Interior Ministry Approves 20 Double-Cabin Vehicles for Islamabad Police and Administration

ISLAMABAD – The Interior Ministry has approved the purchase of 20 double-cabin vehicles to strengthen mobility and operational efficiency for the Islamabad Police and city administration, sources confirmed on Thursday.

According to details, the 20 vehicles will be equally divided, with 10 allocated to the Islamabad Police and 10 to the administration. The move aims to improve field operations and support administrative tasks across the federal capital.

Under this plan, all eight assistant commissioners of Islamabad will receive double-cabin vehicles. Additionally, the additional deputy commissioner general will have access to one of the newly purchased vehicles, ensuring that senior officials are well-equipped for official duties.

On the policing side, SPs posted in the Operations Division will be provided with the vehicles. Senior officers, including SSP (Operations), SSP (Investigation), SSP (Security), and the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO), are also designated to receive double-cabin vehicles to enhance operational readiness.

Sources added that from next month, the Islamabad Police’s SP (Dolphin) will also be allocated a double-cabin vehicle. This addition will further strengthen patrolling capabilities and rapid response in the city.

Officials believe the new vehicles will enable faster deployment of police and administrative teams, improve response times during emergencies, and support efficient supervision of city operations.

The Interior Ministry highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize transport resources for law enforcement and administrative departments in the federal capital. The provision of vehicles is expected to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Islamabad Police and city administration.

The new fleet will be operational within the next few weeks, and authorities are optimistic that this move will significantly improve the safety and administrative management of Islamabad.
