Pakistan joined Qatar’s request for an emergency UN Security Council session. Islamabad also welcomed the Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha on September 15. Pakistan pledged readiness to co-sponsor and support the event.
Officials in Pakistan stressed that Israel’s actions broke international norms. They urged the global community to intervene and prevent further escalation. Shehbaz Sharif assured the Qatari emir that Pakistan would remain in close contact. He promised continued support for Qatar’s mediation role in the region.
