Three police officers were shot dead, and two others were critically wounded in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, authorities confirmed. The suspect in the attack was also killed by police during the confrontation.
The incident occurred in Codorus Township, York County, in southeastern Pennsylvania. State Police Commissioner Colonel Christopher Paris said the officers had returned to a location related to earlier police work. Governor Josh Shapiro visited the hospital to honor the fallen officers. Shapiro also mentioned receiving a call from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi, who offered federal support if needed. Local communities and residents expressed shock and sorrow over the tragic Pennsylvania police shooting, highlighting the risks law enforcement officers face daily.
