Barcelona Confirms Venue Shift for Upcoming Matches

Barcelona

Barcelona has confirmed a venue shift for its upcoming fixtures as Camp Nou remains unavailable. The ongoing renovation work and delayed permits have forced the club to look for alternative options.

The first match affected will be a LaLiga clash against Valencia. That game will now be played at the Estadi Johan Cruyff, which has a smaller capacity compared to Camp Nou. The change became necessary as the stadium still lacks the required approvals for reopening.

A similar adjustment is planned for the Champions League. Barcelona’s group-stage match against Paris Saint-Germain will be hosted at Montjuïc, officially known as the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. UEFA rules require consistency, meaning all of Barcelona’s group-stage home games may now be played there.

Club officials had originally hoped to reopen part of Camp Nou by September. However, delays in permits and compliance with safety standards continue to push back the timeline. Supporters have been informed of the venue changes, with some tickets distributed through a lottery system due to reduced stadium capacity.

While fans are eager to see their team back at Camp Nou, the club is prioritizing safety and compliance. Both Estadi Johan Cruyff and Montjuïc will temporarily serve as home grounds until Camp Nou is fully ready.

The venue shift highlights the scale of Barcelona’s renovation project. The club remains committed to completing the work and ensuring a safe return to its iconic stadium.
