A music teacher was stabbed in the face by a 14-year-old student during class at Robert-Schuman College in Benfeld, northeastern France, on Wednesday morning. The teacher, aged 66, was airlifted to a nearby hospital; her life is not in danger. The student fled the scene but was arrested shortly afterward and also hospitalized after sustaining self-inflicted injuries during his capture.
French Education Minister Élisabeth Borne condemned the attack, expressing solidarity with the teacher and the school community. She announced that an emergency response unit had been activated to support students and staff.
