Pakistani actress Sana Javed has warned her followers about a fake verified Facebook page running under her name. The actress revealed that the page had been spreading misleading statements, which forced her to issue an official clarification.
The issue came into the spotlight after Pakistan’s defeat to India in the Asia Cup 2025 final. A post from the fake account claimed that her husband, retired cricketer Shoaib Malik, could have lifted the team’s morale with his experience. The unusual statement quickly caught attention as Malik retired from professional cricket years ago.
Many social media users expressed confusion over the post, while others began trolling the actress. The same account later attempted to clarify its stance, saying it did not insist Malik should play but emphasized the need for senior players like Babar Azam or Muhammad Rizwan.
Since the account carried Meta’s blue verification badge, many believed it to be real. However, Sana Javed addressed the matter on Instagram, stressing that the page was fake. She highlighted that her official Facebook account is not verified and even has fewer followers than the fraudulent one.
Reports show that her genuine page has around 1.2 million followers, while the fake one had more than 1.7 million. The impostor account also shared photos and videos of Sana Javed and Shoaib Malik to appear authentic.
In her statement, the Khaani actress wrote, “Alert! This is a fake page, and I am unsure how it was verified. Please refrain from sharing any content from this account.” She confirmed that the issue has been reported to the concerned authorities for further action.
Following her report, the fake account has now been taken down.
The incident highlights ongoing challenges with social media impersonation, even on verified platforms. For celebrities like Sana Javed, fake profiles not only spread misinformation but also risk damaging their public image.
