According to the updated rules, delays between 91 and 120 days after purchase will incur a Rs 30,000 fine for cars and similar vehicles. Transport and excise departments are being asked to enforce the policy strictly. Citizens are urged to process ownership transfers as soon as possible to avoid penalties.
Vehicle dealers, buyers, and sellers are advised to be more cautious now. Delays in paperwork could lead to heavy fines under the new policy.
Critics say that while the fines are steep, enforcement has long been weak. This change may push more people to comply. Supporters argue that stronger penalties will increase accountability.
