KARACHI β Pakistani rapper Talha Anjum has addressed misconceptions about his music, stating that his songs do not encourage violence, drug use, or other harmful behaviors. The Young Stunners member shared his perspective in a recent interview with Raftaar, highlighting his artistic intentions and creative freedom.
Responding to questions about the use of profanity and references to alcohol in his lyrics, Talha Anjum explained that his words are often misunderstood. βIβve never tried to promote violence through my songs,β he said. βI often write whatever comes to mind, including both good and bad words, but itβs up to the listener to decide what message they take from it.β
Talha, who forms the renowned duo Young Stunners with Talha Yunus, emphasized that his music focuses on consistency, perseverance, and personal growth. βIf thereβs one thing I want people to learn from my music, itβs how to remain consistent in life,β he added.
The rapper defended his unfiltered style, calling it an authentic form of artistic expression. He criticized societyβs tendency to focus only on the negative aspects of an artistβs work. βPeople donβt see the good things in my work; they immediately notice the bad. Often, an artistβs positive identity is only recognized after theyβre gone,β he remarked.
Addressing the use of alcohol in some lyrics, Talha Anjum compared his approach to literary figures like Mirza Ghalib, noting that expressions in art do not necessarily promote certain behaviors. He urged listeners to pay attention to the social messages and positive themes present in many of his songs.
Concluding his interview, Talha Anjum reiterated that his music aims to inspire and inform, rather than encourage harmful habits. βThereβs a lot to learn from the positive side of my music,β he said, encouraging fans to look beyond surface-level interpretations.
