‘Not a Single Pakistani Jet Shot Down in May Clashes with India’ DG ISPR

ISLAMABAD: The Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, has confirmed that Indian forces failed to shoot down any Pakistani jet during the May clashes between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. His remarks came during an interview with Bloomberg, where he outlined Pakistan’s defense priorities and technological progress.

Lt. Gen. Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan’s military development strategy focuses on operational efficiency and the use of indigenous technology. He stated that while Pakistan is open to acquiring modern systems from various sources, it does not wish to enter an arms race with India.

Referring to the recent skirmishes, the ISPR chief said, “Pakistan has never manipulated or hidden any data. During the Maraka-e-Haq, India could not down a single Pakistani jet.” His statement reaffirmed Pakistan’s confidence in its air defense systems and overall military strength.

He also praised the performance of Pakistan’s weapon systems, particularly the advanced Chinese-made platforms integrated into the Pakistani Air Force. According to Bloomberg, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that seven Indian aircraft were destroyed during the conflict. Reports suggested that Pakistan’s J-10C fighter jets were responsible for downing several Indian Air Force planes, including Rafale jets.

Bloomberg further reported that Pakistan had recently added the Chinese-built Z-10ME attack helicopter to its arsenal. This new addition complements the country’s existing fleet of U.S.-made F-16 fighter jets and other Chinese aircraft, strengthening Pakistan’s aerial capabilities.

The remarks by Lt. Gen. Chaudhry reflect Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to enhancing its defense technology through a combination of local innovation and international collaboration. The success of the Pakistani jet fleet during the clashes highlights the country’s ability to defend its airspace effectively while maintaining regional stability.
