The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a strict campaign against littering near Rawal Dam, imposing heavy fines on several restaurants found violating cleanliness rules. The move comes after growing concerns over pollution and waste dumping in the area, which serves as one of Islamabadβs main water sources.
According to CDA officials, multiple restaurants and eateries located along the Rawal Dam road were penalized for improper waste disposal. The authority stated that these establishments were contributing to environmental degradation and threatening the damβs ecosystem.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of the Environment Directorate, which inspected the sites and issued challans to violators. Officials confirmed that the campaign will continue until all commercial units in the area comply with environmental regulations.
