LESCO Makes Online Verification Mandatory for New Electricity Connections

LAHORE – The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has introduced stricter requirements for obtaining new electricity connections, aiming to enhance transparency and ensure safety compliance.

According to official sources, LESCO has made online verification of test reports mandatory for all connection types, including domestic, commercial, industrial, and tube wells. This new step is part of the company’s efforts to digitize and streamline the connection process.

Under the updated procedure, the relevant Electric Inspector will be responsible for verifying the test reports through an integrated online system. LESCO’s new connection portal has now been linked with the Electric Inspector’s online reporting platform, ensuring that each application undergoes proper technical scrutiny before approval.

Applicants seeking new connections must upload their test reports along with other required documents while submitting the online application. Once the Electric Inspector verifies the report digitally, LESCO will issue a demand notice to the applicant.

After the payment of the demand notice, the company will provide meters and other related materials needed for installation. Upon completion of these steps, the electricity connection will be activated for the consumer.

Officials emphasized that this new system will help prevent fake or incomplete applications while improving service delivery. The online verification process will also minimize delays and make it easier for applicants to track the progress of their requests.
