Big Relief for Daily Wages Workers! Punjab Announces Rs1,975 Major Pay Raise

The Punjab government has officially announced an increase in the wages of Daily Wages Workers across the province. A notification issued by the Assistant Commissioner (HR) outlines the revised pay structure for skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled laborers, offering much-needed relief amid rising inflation.

According to the official notification, the daily wage for skilled workers has been fixed at Rs1,975, taking their monthly salary to Rs45,945. Semi-skilled workers will now receive Rs1,558 per day, translating to a monthly salary of Rs43,108. Meanwhile, unskilled (non-skilled) laborers will earn Rs1,538 per day, with a monthly income of Rs40,000.

The new wage structure aims to support Daily Wages Workers who have been struggling with the increasing cost of living. Officials said the decision reflects the government’s commitment to improving the financial well-being of the working class in Punjab.

The notification also specifies that the revised pay rates will apply to all government departments, attached bodies, and autonomous institutions under the Punjab government. Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against any department or contractor that fails to implement the new wage policy.

The government emphasized that this initiative is part of broader efforts to enhance economic stability and protect vulnerable segments of society. With this wage hike, Daily Wages Workers are expected to experience some financial relief as they cope with daily expenses and inflationary pressures.
