Pak-Afghan War: White Flag Raised as Taliban Abandons Post Amid Fierce Pakistan Army Offensive

KURRAM: The Pak-Afghan War has sharply intensified as Pakistan’s military carried out decisive operations against Afghan Taliban fighters and the militant faction Fitna al-Khawarij. The move follows repeated cross-border attacks by Taliban forces.

Security sources confirmed that recent clashes occurred near the Shorko area of Kurram district. Afghan Taliban units opened unprovoked fire across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. Pakistani troops responded immediately, triggering a two-hour gun battle. Reports indicate heavy losses for Taliban positions, including the destruction of several posts and at least one tank.

During the escalation, Pakistani forces expanded their counteroffensive. A moving Taliban tank near the border was destroyed in a precision strike. The Pakistan Army also neutralized the Shamshad Post, one of the Taliban’s fortified positions, inflicting a major setback on enemy forces.

The violence prompted precautionary evacuations in several border villages. Security sources revealed that militants from both the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij fled their posts in disarray. A key Khawarij commander was reportedly killed during the strikes.

In a significant development, Pakistani forces compelled Taliban fighters to raise a white flag at a key border post, symbolizing surrender. Taliban personnel subsequently abandoned the post, marking both a strategic and symbolic victory for Pakistan.

Officials emphasized that these operations reflect Pakistan’s firm resolve to secure its borders amid the ongoing Pak-Afghan War, which had remained relatively calm in recent months but has now reignited. Military authorities confirmed that coordinated counter-terror operations remain ongoing, with high alert maintained across volatile sectors.

The escalation began after Taliban and allied militants attacked Pakistani border posts on October 11–12, 2025. The Pakistan Army responded decisively, killing dozens of attackers and capturing multiple positions.

Precision strikes targeted Taliban camps, posts, training facilities, and networks, including elements linked to Fitna al-Khawarij, Fitna al-Hindustan, and ISKP/Daesh, while minimizing harm to civilians.
