Türkiye has announced that its armed forces are prepared to participate in a multinational task force to be formed in Gaza under President Donald Trump’s ceasefire plan. National Defence Minister Yasar Guler confirmed the country’s readiness, saying the Turkish Armed Forces stand prepared to contribute to peace and stability in the war-torn region.
Speaking to reporters in Ankara, Guler said Türkiye fully supports international efforts aimed at ensuring lasting peace and humanitarian access in Gaza. He emphasized that the multinational task force would play a crucial role in maintaining security, overseeing ceasefire compliance, and facilitating the delivery of aid to civilians.
“Türkiye is ready to take its part in the multinational task force once the framework is finalized,” Guler said. “We have the capability and experience required for such missions, and we are committed to supporting peace efforts in Gaza.”
The statement follows Trump’s recently announced ceasefire plan, which aims to end months of hostilities between Israel and Hamas. The plan reportedly includes provisions for international monitoring, the return of hostages, and the coordination of humanitarian aid through a coalition of participating countries.
Türkiye’s readiness to join the multinational task force aligns with its long-standing position advocating for a two-state solution and the protection of Palestinian rights. Ankara has consistently called for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, criticizing attacks on civilians and demanding accountability for violations of international law.
Analysts view Türkiye’s potential role in the Gaza multinational task force as a sign of its growing diplomatic and military involvement in regional peace initiatives. The move could also strengthen Ankara’s ties with Washington after years of strained relations.
If finalized, the multinational task force is expected to include contributions from several NATO members and regional partners. Its operations would likely focus on stabilizing Gaza, rebuilding infrastructure, and ensuring that both sides adhere to the terms of the ceasefire.
