Security Forces Foil Suicide Attack in North Waziristan, Kill Four Terrorists

NORTH WAZIRISTAN โ€“ Security forces successfully foiled a major suicide attack in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan on Friday, killing all four terrorists involved.

According to official reports, one militant rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into the outer wall of a security forces camp, while three others attempted to storm the compound. However, the troops responded swiftly, neutralizing the attackers before they could enter. No casualties were reported among the forces.

This latest incident highlights the continued vigilance of Pakistanโ€™s security forces in safeguarding the region from militant threats. Their quick response prevented what could have been a devastating attack on the military facility.

In the past two days alone, around 88 Afghan Taliban-backed militants have been killed in various operations. The armed forces reaffirmed their commitment to eliminating terrorism through the effective execution of the National Action Plan (NAP).

Earlier this week, security personnel conducted a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeting groups linked to external funding. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 34 โ€œIndia-backedโ€ terrorists were eliminated during intense operations carried out between October 13 and 15, 2025.

The military statement revealed that the operations targeted militants from the Indian-proxy group Fitna-al-Khawarij, associated with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). In one of the most significant clashes, security forces destroyed militant hideouts in Spinwam, North Waziristan, killing 18 terrorists after heavy fighting.

Further operations in South Waziristan and Bannu led to the deaths of 16 more militants. Following these encounters, clearance and sanitisation operations were launched to ensure no remaining threats in the region.

The ISPR reaffirmed that the ongoing Azm-i-Istehkam campaign will continue under the National Action Plan, with the aim of eradicating every trace of foreign-backed militancy from Pakistan.
