Pakistani actress and entrepreneur Komal Aziz has spoken candidly about her journey in the entertainment industry and the challenges she faced after stepping into business. In a recent interview on Subh ka Samaa, Komal addressed common misconceptions about women in showbiz and shared personal insights from her career.
According to Komal Aziz, many people, including her own family, assumed that entering the entertainment world would lead her into controversies or scandals. βEveryone thought Iβd end up in a scandal, but that never happened,β she said, emphasizing that her time in showbiz was free from any negative experiences or public disputes.
The actress revealed that she never faced trolling or misconduct during her acting career. However, she decided to step away from acting because, in her view, women have limited career longevity in the entertainment industry. Komal Aziz explained that roles for women often depend on their appearance, and as they age, leading opportunities tend to decrease.
βIn this field, women have less time. After a certain age, roles either change or stop coming altogether,β she stated. Despite this, Komal clarified that she hasnβt completely ruled out returning to acting in the future.
Now focused on her entrepreneurial ventures, Komal Aziz shared that business life has brought more criticism and challenges than acting ever did. She disclosed that several female employees resigned from her company without notice and later launched a social media campaign against her when she withheld their pending salaries. βThey even made fake accounts on LinkedIn to defame me,β she alleged.
Komal admitted that while acting offers higher pay, running a business provides a different sense of purpose and growth. βI earn more in showbiz, but business gives perspective,β she said.
