MDCAT 2025 Held Across Pakistan And Abroad

The MDCAT 2025 examination is being held today across Pakistan and abroad under the supervision of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC). More than 140,000 candidates are appearing in the nationwide test to secure admission to medical and dental colleges.

A total of 35 examination centers have been established across the country, along with an international center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to accommodate overseas Pakistani students. Registration for the MDCAT began at 8:00 AM and closed at 9:00 AM, followed by a three-hour multiple-choice paper from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The test carries a total of 180 marks.

In Islamabad, hundreds of students gathered at Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University and Bahria University centers to take the exam.

Punjab recorded the highest participation, with around 50,000 candidates taking the MDCAT across 27 centers in 12 cities, including Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Sargodha, and Bahawalpur. Lahore hosted nearly 12,000 students, the highest in the province. Strict security measures were implemented, including a complete ban on mobile phones and electronic devices. Section 144 was enforced near examination centers to prevent unauthorized gatherings. Senior faculty members from the University of Health Sciences (UHS) supervised the arrangements.

In Sindh, the test took place at Dow University Ojha Campus and NED University in Karachi, along with centers in Hyderabad, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, and Sukkur. Despite heavy traffic and road construction near University Road, Karachi, the exam proceeded smoothly. Candidates were required to carry their admit cards and CNICs for identification.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Khyber Medical University (KMU) organized the MDCAT in seven districts, including Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Abbottabad, Lower Dir, and Dera Ismail Khan. Nearly 40,000 students appeared in the province. The BRT service in Peshawar started early to assist candidates, while parking restrictions and Section 144 ensured smooth conduct around centers.

The PM&DC stated that the MDCAT 2025 aims to ensure transparency and merit-based admissions to medical and dental colleges across Pakistan.
