Huawei is preparing to launch a new file transfer feature that will allow seamless data sharing between HarmonyOS 6 and Apple’s iOS devices. The update, expected by the end of 2025, will mark a major step toward cross-platform connectivity between Huawei and Apple ecosystems.
The upcoming file transfer feature will enable users to share photos, videos, and documents between Huawei and Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks. This capability will be powered by a dedicated app available on the Apple App Store, mirroring Huawei’s native device connection interface. Through this app, users will be able to view, manage, and connect available devices easily.
Huawei’s HarmonyOS has long supported multi-device file sharing within its ecosystem—covering phones, tablets, TVs, and PCs. However, this new file transfer feature is the first to bridge Huawei’s operating system with Apple’s iOS, iPadOS, and macOS environments.
According to reports, the cross-platform functionality will be officially released in December 2025. The feature will support all Huawei devices running HarmonyOS 6 or newer versions. For Apple users, compatibility will extend to devices operating on iOS 13, iPadOS 13, or macOS 10.15 and above.
Currently, Huawei is testing the HarmonyOS 6 beta version, which offers smoother performance, new interactive themes, and improved system efficiency. The upcoming file transfer feature is expected to debut with the stable rollout of HarmonyOS 6 later this year.
This development highlights Huawei’s growing focus on enhancing user convenience through interoperability and smarter connectivity tools. By enabling direct data exchange between HarmonyOS and Apple’s platforms, Huawei is positioning itself as a key player in cross-ecosystem integration.
