Infiltration from Afghan border thwarted; 25 terrorists killed, 5 soldiers martyred

In a major security operation, the Pakistani military reported that infiltration from Afghan border thwarted; 25 terrorists killed, 5 soldiers martyred during fierce clashes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s border region. The incident underscores ongoing threats along the Pakistan–Afghanistan frontier.

The military’s media wing confirmed that troops successfully foiled a cross-border infiltration attempt late on Saturday night. Officials said that infiltration from Afghan border thwarted; 25 terrorists killed, 5 soldiers martyred after a swift exchange of fire with militants attempting to enter Pakistani territory. The five martyred soldiers were from the Frontier Corps and Special Services Group.

According to the army statement, 25 militants were neutralised during the operation that targeted hideouts near the Afghan border. Among the killed terrorists were key operatives from an extremist group designated β€œFitna al-Khawarij.” Authorities said the militants planned to carry out attacks inside Pakistan after crossing the border.

Local residents reported heavy gunfire and helicopter activity in the region. The army also found large caches of weapons, ammunition, and explosives at the site. The statement said that these materials were likely meant for assaults on civilian and security targets.

The government noted that infiltration from Afghan border thwarted; 25 terrorists killed, 5 soldiers martyred highlights the heightened risk of militant movements in the border area. Defence analysts say the success of the operation demonstrates improved intelligence-based planning and coordination among Pakistan’s security agencies.

Additionally, senior military officials issued a stern warning to militants and their sponsors, emphasising that any attempt to breach the border will meet decisive response. They urged Afghanistan’s caretaker authorities to prevent its soil from being used as a base for violent groups.

The wounded soldiers are receiving medical treatment in a military hospital. A full investigation has been launched to review the operation’s timeline and assess future preventive measures. Authorities added that the families of the martyred personnel have been given special assistance and honours.

This incident adds to a series of recent operations along the western frontier where Pakistan’s forces say they have intercepted militant infiltrations and inflicted heavy losses. Analysts believe that such actions are crucial ahead of winter months when terrain conditions favour border crossings.
