The military’s media wing confirmed that troops successfully foiled a cross-border infiltration attempt late on Saturday night. The five martyred soldiers were from the Frontier Corps and Special Services Group.

Among the killed terrorists were key operatives from an extremist group designated “Fitna al-Khawarij.” Authorities said the militants planned to carry out attacks inside Pakistan after crossing the border.
Local residents reported heavy gunfire and helicopter activity in the region. The army also found large caches of weapons, ammunition, and explosives at the site. The statement said that these materials were likely meant for assaults on civilian and security targets.
