Trainee Doctor Allegedly Ass@ulted by Senior at PIMS Hospital, Complaint Filed

ISLAMABAD – A trainee doctor at PIMS Hospital has filed a formal complaint alleging assault by a senior doctor at the facility. The incident reportedly took place while the trainee was on duty at the Burn Center.

The victim, identified as Dr. Ibrahim, submitted a written complaint to the Karachi Company Police Station seeking legal action against the accused, Dr. Abdul Khaliq.

According to Dr. Ibrahim, he was stopped by a security guard on the instructions of Dr. Abdul Khaliq. The senior doctor, along with others, allegedly assaulted him during the incident. Dr. Ibrahim also claimed that his mobile phone was damaged during the attack and that he was confined in a room for approximately two hours.

The trainee further alleged that he has received threats of dismissal and even death from the senior doctor, raising concerns about safety and workplace harassment at PIMS Hospital.

Authorities at the hospital have been urged to investigate the matter promptly and ensure justice for Dr. Ibrahim. The complaint highlights the need for strict measures to protect medical staff from harassment and assault in healthcare facilities.

PIMS Hospital, being one of Islamabad’s leading medical institutions, serves a large number of patients daily. Incidents of violence or threats against staff can disrupt hospital operations and undermine trust in healthcare services.

Dr. Ibrahim’s complaint has drawn attention from both law enforcement and the medical community, prompting calls for immediate action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Hospital officials have not yet released an official statement regarding the assault allegations, but investigations are expected to begin soon. Legal experts say such cases require swift action to protect the rights and safety of healthcare professionals.
