Lahore β A shocking revelation has emerged as a CCD inspector was found to be behind the kidnapping of a local businessman in Lahore.
According to police reports, CCD Inspector Javed Iqbal, along with Constable Tauseef, allegedly abducted a trader from the Kahna area. The suspects demanded a ransom of Rs4 million from the victimβs family. The payment was reportedly made near the LahoreβIslamabad Motorway (LOS).
Police officials acted swiftly and managed to capture the suspects shortly after the businessman was released. Investigations confirmed that CCD Inspector Javed Iqbal and Constable Tauseef were directly involved in planning and executing the abduction. Both officers have been arrested, and a case has been registered against them.
The incident has raised serious concerns about corruption and misuse of power within the Crime Control Department (CCD). Authorities have stated that strict action will be taken against those who abuse their official positions.
In another development, six suspected criminals were killed in a series of alleged CCD encounters across different areas of Lahore. The encounters occurred in Nishtar Town, Green Town, Ring Road, and Harbanspura.
In Nishtar Town, two armed men were shot dead after they opened fire at a police checkpoint, prompting a retaliatory response. In Green Town, a suspect under custody was killed when his accomplices attacked the police.
Similarly, two suspects were killed during a shootout on Ring Road, while two others escaped. Near the Harbanspura railway crossing, another suspect died in an exchange of gunfire.

Police officials have emphasized that operations will continue to ensure the safety of citizens. The arrest of a CCD inspector involved in such a serious crime, however, highlights the urgent need for accountability within law enforcement agencies.
