Two Police Officers Among Three Injured in Gujrat Gun Attack

At least three people, including two police officers, were injured in a gun attack in Gujrat on Friday. According to initial reports, unidentified assailants opened fire on a police team that was conducting a routine patrol near the city’s Jalalpur Jattan area.

Police officials said the attackers fled the scene immediately after the shooting. The injured officers were quickly taken to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Teaching Hospital, where doctors confirmed that all three victims were in stable condition.

Authorities have launched a search operation to trace and arrest the suspects involved in the Gujrat gun attack. Security has been tightened across nearby areas, with checkpoints set up to monitor vehicle movement and prevent further incidents.

A senior police officer told reporters that the motive behind the shooting remains unclear but investigations are underway. β€œWe are reviewing CCTV footage and have collected initial evidence from the scene,” he said, adding that law enforcement agencies are working closely to identify the perpetrators.

Local residents reported hearing multiple gunshots before police reinforcements arrived. Witnesses also said the attackers were riding a motorcycle and managed to escape through narrow lanes before officers could respond.

The incident has sparked concern among citizens, with community leaders urging authorities to enhance night patrols and improve street lighting in the area to prevent such attacks.

The Gujrat gun attack, which left two police officers injured, highlights the growing need for stronger security measures and better coordination between law enforcement units. Police have assured that the culprits will be arrested soon and brought to justice.
