Pakistanβs thrilling comeback win over South Africa not only kept their perfect home record intact but also lifted several players in the latest ICC T20I rankings. The victory gave the Green Shirts a strong boost ahead of next yearβs T20 World Cup.
Pakistan have been in excellent form this year, winning four of their last five bilateral T20I series. Their recent 2-1 win over South Africa at home showcased the teamβs growing confidence and consistency. This success is now reflected in the ICC Menβs T20I Player Rankings, where multiple players have made significant progress.
Babar Azam climbed nine spots to 30th after becoming the all-time leading run-scorer in T20I cricket. Saim Ayub also jumped ten places to 39th, rewarded for his steady batting performances at the top order. Salman Agha made an impressive rise of ten positions to 54th, thanks to his aggressive finishing against South Africa.
Sahibzada Farhan remains Pakistanβs highest-ranked batter at 11th. However, Fakhar Zaman (63), Hasan Nawaz (69), and Mohammad Haris (82) have slipped down the order due to inconsistent performances or limited appearances in recent matches.
On the bowling front, Shaheen Afridi moved up three spots to 13th, while Mohammad Nawaz rose one place to 32nd. Salman Mirza made one of the biggest jumps, moving up 98 spots to reach 45th in the world, while Faheem Ashraf advanced 50 places to 51st. Abrar Ahmed continues to be Pakistanβs top-ranked T20I bowler, holding the 8th position globally.
The latest ICC update highlights Pakistanβs steady upward momentum. With just months left before the 2026 T20 World Cup, the teamβs form and balance are improving at the right time. If this trend continues, Pakistan could enter the global event as one of the most in-form sides in international cricket.
