Meta To Invest $600 Billion In U.S. AI Data Infrastructure

Meta Platforms announced on Friday that it will invest $600 billion in U.S. infrastructure and jobs over the next three years, with a strong focus on AI data centers. The move aims to strengthen the company’s artificial intelligence capabilities and support its long-term ambitions.

The social media giant is racing to build advanced computing infrastructure to power its AI projects. CEO Mark Zuckerberg told President Donald Trump in September that Meta plans to invest β€œat least $600 billion” in the United States over the coming years.

Meta is aggressively expanding its AI data center footprint to meet the growing demand for compute power. The company envisions achieving superintelligence, a stage where AI systems could potentially outperform human cognitive abilities. To prepare, Meta is β€œfront-loading” capacity to ensure readiness for optimistic scenarios, Zuckerberg said during a recent earnings call.

The company has already committed to several major projects. Last month, Meta finalized a $27 billion financing deal with Blue Owl Capital to fund its Louisiana data center, the largest project in its history. Additionally, in October, Meta announced a $1.5 billion investment in a new Texas data center, marking its 29th facility globally.

These AI data centers will host high-performance computing systems designed to process vast amounts of information. Meta expects capital expenses to rise significantly next year due to these AI-focused investments. The projects aim to enhance research capabilities, accelerate AI development, and maintain Meta’s position at the forefront of technology innovation.

Meta’s investments will also generate thousands of jobs across multiple states. The company emphasized that the infrastructure build-out is not only about AI but also about creating economic opportunities and strengthening U.S. technological leadership.

With these initiatives, Meta Platforms continues to prioritize AI data infrastructure as a foundation for future innovation. The company’s strategy highlights the critical role of robust data centers in powering advanced AI systems and maintaining competitiveness in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
