LOWER DIR – Unknown gunmen opened fire at the residence of Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah in Lower Dir, causing partial damage to his property.
According to police officials, a large contingent quickly arrived at the scene after reports of gunfire. The attack resulted in damage to the main gate, windows, and a car parked inside the premises. Fortunately, no casualties were reported during the incident.
Authorities confirmed that the attackers escaped from the area before law enforcement reached the location. Police immediately cordoned off the vicinity and began a search operation to trace the suspects involved in the shooting at Naseem Shah’s home.
During the operation, law enforcement personnel detained five individuals for questioning. A formal case has been registered at the concerned police station, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the attack.
Local residents expressed concern over the incident, urging authorities to ensure the safety of national players. Naseem Shah, who represents Pakistan in all three formats, is currently recovering from an injury and was not present at the house during the attack, according to preliminary reports.
Police officials assured that strict action would be taken once the culprits are identified. Security around the cricketer’s residence has been increased as part of preventive measures.
