Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday reaffirmed Pakistanโs commitment to dialogue, diplomacy, and multilateralism as the foundation for peace, stability, and development.
Speaking on the second day of the three-day Inter-Parliamentary Speakersโ Conference (ISC), Dar said the participation of parliamentarians and delegates from across the world highlighted the importance of international cooperation. He noted that multilateral engagement remains the surest path to peace and progress.
The conference, organized under the Senate of Pakistan with the vision of Chairman Senate and ISC Founding Chairman Senator Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, represents Pakistanโs ongoing efforts to promote security, development, and regional stability through collaboration with global partners.
Addressing global challenges, the Deputy Prime Minister highlighted issues such as growing geopolitical rivalries, climate change, deepening inequalities, and terrorism. He emphasized that forums like ISC are vital to revitalize multilateralism through openness, inclusion, and the participation of peopleโs representatives.
Senator Dar condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Wana and Islamabad that claimed 15 lives. He stated that Pakistan categorically rejects terrorism in all its forms and reaffirmed the countryโs resolve to combat such threats.
โThese cowardly acts will never shake our national resolve to eliminate this menace,โ Dar said, underscoring that dialogue, understanding, and partnerships remain the only sustainable path to peace and security.
He also highlighted that Pakistanโs foreign policy is rooted in the principles of the UN Charter, including sovereign equality, peaceful dispute settlement, non-interference, and friendly international relations.
Recalling Pakistanโs leadership at the United Nations, Dar noted that during its presidency of the UN Security Council in July 2025, Pakistan convened an open debate on promoting global peace. The session resulted in the unanimous adoption of a Pakistan-sponsored resolution to strengthen mechanisms for peaceful dispute resolution.
By condemning terrorist attacks and advocating multilateral solutions, Pakistan continues to position itself as a committed partner in global efforts to ensure peace and stability.
