World Bank Lauds Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz as ‘Climate Change Warrior’

The World Bank has lauded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for her proactive environmental initiatives, recognizing her as a “Climate Change Warrior” for leading impactful projects to combat global warming and promote sustainability.

In a recent statement, the World Bank commended Maryam Nawaz’s government for implementing effective climate resilience programs, particularly in the areas of urban forestry, clean energy, and water conservation. The institution highlighted Punjab’s progress under her leadership, noting the province’s innovative steps toward reducing pollution and promoting green infrastructure.

The World Bank officials emphasized that Punjab’s climate strategy aligns with international sustainability goals and reflects a long-term vision for protecting natural resources. “CM Maryam Nawaz has shown strong political will in tackling climate challenges,” the report stated.

Since taking office, Maryam Nawaz has launched several major environmental projects, including initiatives for tree plantation, solar energy expansion, and smog reduction.
