Shaza Urges Adoption of Modern Technologies for National Development

Minister of State for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima has urged the adoption of modern technologies to accelerate Pakistan’s national development and strengthen its digital economy.

Speaking at a national innovation forum, Shaza emphasized that embracing digital transformation is key to achieving sustainable growth and improving governance, education, and public service delivery. She noted that technology-driven solutions can bridge development gaps, boost productivity, and empower the youth.

According to the minister, Pakistan’s rapidly growing IT sector holds the potential to become a major contributor to GDP if provided with the right policy support and infrastructure. She highlighted ongoing government initiatives aimed at promoting startups, expanding broadband access, and improving digital skills among the younger population.

Shaza also called for collaboration between public and private sectors to harness innovation for national progress. “Modern technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data analytics can revolutionize industries and enhance transparency,” she said.

She further stated that the government is committed to building a digitally inclusive society, ensuring that rural and underprivileged communities also benefit from technological advancements.

Experts attending the event agreed that Pakistan must align its technological policies with global trends to remain competitive in the international market.

Shaza concluded by reaffirming the government’s dedication to integrating modern technologies across all sectors to create new economic opportunities and strengthen Pakistan’s path toward sustainable development.
