PM Shehbaz Sharif to Meet Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart Among Other Top Global CEOs in Pakistan

Islamabad โ€“ The government of Pakistan has finalised a list of CEOs from global retail giants to meet PM Shehbaz Sharif, aiming to strengthen international investment in the country.

The companies include Amazon, Alibaba, Walmart, and others, representing nations such as the United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, Netherlands, and France. These meetings are part of a broader effort to highlight Pakistanโ€™s economic and strategic importance globally.

Federal ministers and officials, including Jam Kamal Khan, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Bilal Azhar Kayani, and Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar Khan, attended a high-level meeting to finalise the list and review preparations for the premierโ€™s interactions with the top 20 CEOs.

SAPM Haroon Akhtar Khan said Pakistan holds immense strategic value and offers significant investment opportunities across multiple sectors. He added that the meetings with CEOs would be a โ€œgame-changer for Pakistanโ€™s economy.โ€

Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan stated that trade policies were being modernised to align with global trends for sustainable growth. Meanwhile, Food Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasised adopting advanced technologies to enhance agricultural productivity. Minister of State Bilal Azhar Kayani highlighted that investment stability would increase employment and support long-term development.

This initiative comes a month after PM Shehbaz Sharif reiterated his commitment to making Pakistan an attractive investment destination by ensuring transparency and aligning economic policies with global standards.

In October, presiding over a meeting on the national economy, PM Shehbaz Sharif directed ministries and institutions to provide all necessary facilities for foreign investors. He noted that positive economic trends reflected growing confidence among global investors.

The premier emphasised that stabilising Pakistanโ€™s economy on strong foundations was the governmentโ€™s top priority. He pledged to harness investment opportunities to promote public welfare, increase employment, and sustain economic progress through innovation, transparency, and private sector participation.
