Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has announced that Ukraine will acquire up to 100 French-made Rafale fighter jets under a long-term defense agreement signed with France. The deal was finalized during Zelenskiyโs visit to Paris, where he met French President Emmanuel Macron.
According to Zelenskiy, the agreement includes a letter of intent that allows Ukraine to purchase the advanced Dassault Rafale aircraft over the next ten years. The package also covers SAMP/T air-defense systems, radars, drones, and various precision weapons, significantly boosting Ukraineโs long-term defense capabilities.
French officials clarified that the fighter jets will be newly built, not taken from Franceโs current fleet, highlighting the strategic, future-focused nature of the partnership.
