PESHAWAR โ Security forces carried out two major intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the killing of fifteen militants linked to the Indian-backed Fitna Al Khwarij network. The operations were launched after confirmed intelligence reports indicated the presence of armed militants preparing hostile activity in the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation took place in the Kulachi area of Dera Ismail Khan District. Troops surrounded a militant hideout and engaged the group with precise fire.
During the clash, ten militants were killed, including a TTP Ring Leader identified as Alam Mehsud. Security officials described him as a notorious figure involved in organizing multiple attacks in the area. His death is seen as a major setback for the networkโs operations.
A second operation was conducted shortly after in Datta Khel, located in North Waziristan District. In this action, five more militants were neutralized. Officials believe this group was also connected to the same foreign-backed network, and their elimination further weakened its operational capability.
Authorities noted that the removal of another senior member, who acted as a TTP Ring Leader, highlights the effectiveness of ongoing counter-terrorism measures.
Following the successful operations, security forces initiated a detailed sanitization process to ensure no remaining militants or threats were present. The ISPR stated that these efforts are ongoing and are aimed at securing the surrounding areas and preventing future infiltration attempts by Indian-backed elements.
These actions fall under Pakistanโs broader counter-terrorism initiative, โAzm-e-Istehkam.โ Approved by the Federal Apex Committee under the National Action Plan, the campaign focuses on eliminating foreign-sponsored terrorism and strengthening national security. Officials stressed that such operations show Pakistanโs firm resolve to eradicate extremist networks and restore lasting peace.
Security analysts say the neutralization of key militants, especially figures serving as a TTP Ring Leader, reinforces the countryโs commitment to dismantling dangerous organizations that threaten regional stability.
