Pakistan Customs Seizes ICE Worth Rs 450 Million In Balochistan

Pakistan Customs Enforcement has seized 30 kilograms of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), with an estimated ICE worth Rs 450 million, during an intelligence-based operation along the N-85 highway near Panjgur district in Balochistan.

The narcotics were recovered from 30 individually wrapped plastic bags hidden inside a Toyota Vitz. Officials said the car was intercepted after credible intelligence indicated it was transporting drugs from Basima toward the coastal belt.

A detailed search of the vehicle revealed the Ice concealed in multiple hidden compartments. The non-customs-paid (NCP) Toyota Vitz used for smuggling is valued at Rs 2.5 million. Both the ICE worth Rs 450 million and the vehicle have been confiscated by Customs authorities.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reaffirmed its commitment to combating narcotics trafficking and highlighted the ongoing efforts to eliminate drugs from society.

In a separate operation, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) dismantled a major drug smuggling network using drones to transport narcotics across borders. Acting on intelligence, ANF teams intercepted a vehicle near Bhedian Kalan Road in Kasur, arresting two suspects and recovering 9 kilograms of heroin, a quadcopter drone, and related equipment.

A subsequent raid at an illegal drone assembly facility named โ€œRoboticsโ€ in Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore, led to the seizure of advanced drone systems, including hexcopters, quadcopters, fixed-wing hybrid VTOLs, and drone remotes.

The recovery of 30 kilograms of Ice highlights the significant ICE worth trafficked by organized networks and underscores the efforts of Pakistani authorities to disrupt drug smuggling operations and ensure public safety.

Pakistan Customs and ANF continue to intensify intelligence-led operations to curb narcotics trafficking, while reinforcing surveillance along key smuggling routes across the country.
