These Motorway Routes are Completely Closed Due to Heavy Fog!

Motorway M-1 was temporarily shut down from Peshawar to Swabi Interchange on Wednesday due to dense fog and dangerously low visibility. Officials said the closure was necessary to protect passengers and prevent accidents along one of the busiest Motorway Routes in the region.

According to the Motorway Police, visibility dropped to unsafe levels early in the morning, making driving extremely risky. Authorities urged travelers to avoid unnecessary intercity movement during foggy hours. They also reminded drivers to plan their journeys in daylight to reduce the dangers posed by severe weather conditions across multiple Motorway Routes.

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) issued safety guidelines for commuters. Drivers were advised to use fog lights, slow down, and keep extra distance from other vehicles.

Officials also encouraged passengers to stay updated by calling the Motorway Police helpline at 130 before starting their trips. This service provides real-time information on closures, traffic flow, and weather conditions along different Motorway Routes.

The temporary closure follows a warning from the Met Office, which said fog is likely to persist in several areas. Continued foggy conditions may increase the risk of accidents and create traffic congestion, particularly during night and early morning hours.

Authorities emphasized that public safety remains their top priority. They urged motorists to follow safety measures strictly and avoid travel unless absolutely necessary. Travelers who must use the roads were instructed to remain cautious and stay informed about changing weather patterns.

The situation will be monitored closely, and Motorway Police are expected to reopen the affected section once visibility improves. Until then, commuters are encouraged to adjust travel plans and remain alert.
