QUETTA โ Reports have surfaced suggesting that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) may consider replacing Sarfraz Bugti as Chief Minister of Balochistan. These claims emerged following political shifts in Azad Kashmir, prompting speculation about a possible in-house change within the province.
PML-N Senator Dostain Khan Domki stated that PPP is allegedly planning to introduce a new face to lead the mineral-rich province. Domki added that the potential replacement would also belong to PPP Balochistan, and discussions about possible candidates are reportedly underway. He criticized governance under Sarfraz Bugti, claiming even PPPโs own MPAs are frustrated with his performance.
Domki also referred to a 2.5-year agreement between PPP and PML-N regarding the Chief Ministership of Balochistan, further fueling speculation about behind-the-scenes political maneuvering. He warned that a change in the provincial leadership could happen soon.
However, the PPP strongly rejected these claims, calling all reports about replacing Sarfraz Bugti baseless and fabricated. Senior party sources clarified that there is no discussion or decision within PPP to change the provincial chief minister.
A PPP spokesperson emphasized that Domkiโs remarks represent his personal opinion and do not reflect the partyโs official stance. The party affirmed that decisions and policies are made through consultation and consensus among senior leadership.
Despite the rumors, Sarfraz Bugti remains the Chief Minister of Balochistan, and the party continues to support his leadership. PPP reiterated that speculation in the media should not be mistaken for actual political developments.
