Apple Boosts iPhone Security with iOS 17.3 Beta

Apple has introduced a new security feature called Stolen Device Protection in the inaugural iOS 17.3 beta for iPhones. Recognizing the high value of iPhones, Apple aims to address theft-related concerns by adding an extra layer of security.

The feature requires Touch ID or Face ID for actions like changing the Apple ID password, turning off Lost Mode, or deleting all data, with no passcode fallback option.

Stolen Device Protection is designed to thwart tactics used by thieves, such as resetting Apple ID passwords after stealing an iPhone and spying on passcodes in public places.

The feature is expected to be available for iPhone XS and newer models in January or February 2023.
