Pakistan’s cricket team is gearing up for a crucial World Cup match against England, which is their last fixture in the tournament. Captain Babar Azam expressed confidence in their ability to secure victory, especially considering the current run rate scenarios.
During a press conference, Babar Azam shared that they have a plan for the net run rate and will try to execute it. He emphasized the importance of executing their plan, especially in the first 10 overs, and mentioned that if Fakhar Zaman plays for 20-30 overs, they can achieve what’s required. Babar also highlighted the crucial roles of players like Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Rizwan in the upcoming match.

Responding to criticism from former cricketers regarding his performance and captaincy, Babar Azam stated that there is no pressure on him. He mentioned that he has been performing and leading the side for the past three years and invited those who want to advise him to contact him directly.
When asked about the factors contributing to Pakistan’s performance in the tournament, Babar declined to assign blame to any individual and stressed that the team failed to perform cohesively. He expressed their commitment to learning from the mistakes made during the tournament.
Babar Azam also noted that the team’s performance cannot be solely attributed to the number of runs scored in bowling or the runs lost in fielding. As a team, they failed to execute the plan and did not play according to the requirements, encompassing bowling, batting, and fielding.
The upcoming match against England will play a crucial role in determining whether Pakistan qualifies for the semi-final spot. To secure a spot, they need to beat England by a significant margin of 287 runs or, if they choose to chase, achieve the highly improbable task of doing so in 2.5 overs.
