Bilawal Bhutto: PTI Faces Karma in Bid to Crush Political Rivals

Expressing regret over the current situation of Imran Khan’s party during election campaigning in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) faces negative consequences when attempting to undermine the political standing of its rivals.

Addressing an election rally in Peshawar’s Hayatabad ahead of the February 8 nationwide polls, Bilawal blamed PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for promoting “politics of hate” in the country. He also took a dig at JUI-F Emir Maulana Fazlur Rehman, questioning those who considered avoiding elections due to the winter season.

Taking a swipe at the former prime minister, Bilawal mentioned the previous government’s actions, stating, “We kept asking Khan sahib [Imran Khan] to refrain from arresting women and stop engaging in politics of hate.” He noted that Khan had toppled his own government with the term “surprise” and questioned how he felt about the surprise now.

Bilawal emphasized the difference between PML-N representing the elites and PPP symbolizing the common people, claiming that his party is the only one contesting the general polls with a manifesto. He pledged to end the politics of division and hate, aiming to shift the entire political dynamics upon coming into power.

Highlighting the upcoming general polls, Bilawal urged the public not to waste their votes on independent candidates. The PPP chief vowed to bring an “economic revolution” to the country, focusing on improving per capita income, employment, regularization of katchi abadis, and various social welfare initiatives.

Earlier in the day, PPP unveiled its detailed manifesto, named “Chuno Nai Soch Ko” (Choose New Thinking), outlining its plans for the nation if the party secures victory in the upcoming elections. The manifesto includes initiatives such as the “Bhook Mitao Programme” to ensure food security and various measures to boost domestic production and support local producers.
