FBR sets Rs60,000 Monthly tax for Karachi Traders under Tajir Dost Scheme

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced a new tax policy under the Tajir Dost Scheme for Karachi traders, requiring them to pay Rs 60,000 in advance tax monthly.

This policy has raised concerns among the business community, particularly impacting the electronics market.

In response to the new tax, Karachi traders have announced a nationwide strike on August 28, demanding the repeal of the Tajir Dost Scheme.

The All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran and other trade groups have criticized the scheme as unjust, calling for a rollback of the increased taxes on the export sector and a revision of income tax rates for both salaried individuals and business owners.
