Fact Check: Is There a School Holiday in Islamabad Tomorrow?

ISLAMABAD: Rumors are circulating on social media about school closures in the federal capital on Monday, September 9, due to a PTI jalsa in Sangjani, which led to road closures in Islamabad today.

A notification claiming that the district administration has declared a holiday for schools on September 9, 2024, is fake.

Fact check: A spokesperson for the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training confirmed that schools in Islamabad Capital Territory will operate as usual tomorrow.

However, some private schools in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, including Beaconhouse, have announced their own closures. Major roads in both cities are mostly open and expected to be clear by tomorrow morning.
