After a successful global premiere at the Red Sea Film Fest 2023, the film ‘Wakhri,’ inspired by Qandeel Baloch, is preparing for a nationwide release on January 5. Directed by Iram Parveen Bilal, the movie received approval from the censor board for screening in Pakistan on December 4, creating high expectations for the local cinema in the coming year.

Iram, representing the Wakhri team, took to Instagram with a video message urging viewers to attend the eagerly awaited theatrical release and emphasized the significance of opening weekends in determining a film’s fate. She expressed gratitude to Mandiviwalla Entertainment for the wide release and requested audiences to participate by watching the film from January 5 to 7.

The lead actress, Faryal Mehmood, received significant acclaim for portraying a complex character in ‘Wakhri’ with remarkable clarity. Faryal proudly announced ‘Wakhri’ as the culmination of her efforts during the brief hiatus. The film is set to release in Pakistan on January 5, 2024.
