Pending a formal announcement from the government, it’s advisable to wait for confirmation regarding the status of May 1st as a public holiday. Typically, on Labor Day, educational institutions across Pakistan, including those in major cities like Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta, remain closed to mark the occasion.

If the public holiday is officially declared, both private and public offices are expected to be closed on May 1st. Additionally, it’s anticipated that the State Bank of Pakistan will declare a bank holiday on Labor Day.
