The plea, filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat, was being heard by Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan. Lawyer Zainab Janjua informed the court that she would provide assistance on this matter during the next hearing.

Advocate General Ayaz Shaukat, representing Islamabad, argued that the application concerning the amendment to the Punjab Jail Rules fell under the jurisdiction of the Lahore High Court. Janjua also mentioned objections regarding the admissibility of the plea. Consequently, the hearing was adjourned until May 10.
