Misbah-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez, two former cricket players and members of the technical committee, drew attention to the Pakistani team’s failings during the Asia Cup during a special meeting on Wednesday at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore.
However, a sports writer tweeted that Misbah and Hafeez objected to the World Cup squad selections made by the selection committee. The two allegedly questioned the reasoning behind several player picks and recommended Mohammad Haris be replaced by Sarfaraz Ahmed.
Hafeez expressed his displeasure with the scenario on his social networking platform ‘X’ after feeling misrepresented. He criticized the journalist, calling the reports false, and expressed disappointment at being misrepresented in such a way.
However, both parties later deleted the tweets.
