Chinese doctors have successfully transplanted a genetically modified pig liver into a brain-dead human, marking a major step toward addressing the global organ shortage. Conducted at the Fourth Military Medical University in Xi’an, the transplant lasted 10 days, with the pig liver producing bile and key proteins.
