In a fierce battle at the box office, Kung Fu Panda 4 emerged triumphant for the second consecutive week, narrowly edging out the Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya-led Dune: Part Two.
Led by the voice talents of Jack Black, Awkwafina, and Viola Davis, the beloved animated adventure held onto its dominant position, pulling in $30 million in ticket sales. Despite experiencing a notable 50 percent decrease in revenue compared to the previous week, Kung Fu Panda 4 maintained its stronghold at the top.

Directed by Mike Mitchell and boasting an ensemble cast, including Dustin Hoffman, James Hong, Bryan Cranston, and Ian McShane, alongside newcomers Ke Huy Quan, Ronny Chieng, Lori Tan Chinn, the film follows Po (Jack Black) on a quest to find and train his successor as the new Dragon Warrior. Teaming up with fox bandit Zhen (Awkwafina), Po must confront the evil sorceress, the Chameleon (Viola Davis).
Receiving generally positive reviews from critics, Kung Fu Panda 4 has amassed $176 million worldwide, solidifying its position as the sixth highest-grossing film of 2024.
Meanwhile, Dune: Part Two, directed by Denis Villeneuve and featuring a star-studded cast including Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, Zendaya, and Rebecca Ferguson, closely followed with earnings of $29.1 million.
The epic science fiction sequel has already surpassed $500 million globally, showcasing its immense international appeal.
Claiming the third spot at the box office is Arthur the King, starring Mark Wahlberg as an adventure racer who forms an unexpected bond with a stray dog during his journey. Inspired by true events, the film resonated well with audiences, earning $7.5 million in ticket sales.
Following closely behind are Imaginary and Cabrini, rounding off the top five in the box office rankings. With a diverse array of offerings captivating audiences, the cinematic landscape continues to deliver thrilling entertainment experiences for moviegoers worldwide.
