Shah Rukh Khan Injured During Action Sequence – Will King Production be Delayed

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has sustained an injury while shooting for his highly anticipated action-thriller, King. The incident occurred during an intense action sequence at Mumbai’s Golden Tobacco Studio. As a result, the production of the film has been temporarily halted, and Khan has been advised to take complete rest for a month.

Reports indicate that the 59-year-old actor was performing a demanding stunt when the injury took place. While the exact nature of the injury has not been officially revealed, sources close to the production have shared that it is a muscular strain and not a serious issue. Khan, accompanied by his team, has traveled to the United States for immediate medical attention.

“This isn’t a major injury, but more of a muscular strain,” said a source familiar with the situation. “Over the years, Shah Rukh has performed numerous stunts, which has led to injuries in his muscles. This time, the doctors have advised a month of rest before he can return to the set.”

The injury has caused a disruption in the film’s production schedule, which was originally set to continue through July and August. Filming is now expected to resume in September or October, depending on Khan’s recovery. With this delay, several shoot bookings at Mumbai’s Film City, Golden Tobacco Studio, and Yash Raj Films (YRF) have been postponed.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, known for his previous collaboration with Khan in Pathaan, King features an ensemble cast. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan, the film stars Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Jaideep Ahlawat, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, and Abhi Verma. Suhana, Shah Rukh’s daughter, is expected to play a central role in this emotional, action-packed narrative.

Although not an official remake, King is inspired by the 2000 film Bichhoo, which was adapted from Luc Besson’s Léon: The Professional. In the film, Khan portrays a brooding assassin seeking revenge after a tragic event, with his daughter’s character joining him on the mission.

Despite this unexpected setback, sources involved with the production remain positive. “Once Shah Rukh recovers, he is expected to return to the set with renewed energy,” a source said.

King is one of the most awaited films of 2025, especially following the massive success of Pathaan and Jawan. Shah Rukh Khan’s enduring presence in Indian cinema continues to captivate audiences worldwide, making King a film to watch out for in the coming months.
