ISLAMABAD: The Kazakh Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu arrived in Pakistan on Monday for a two-day official visit. He is leading a 13-member high-level delegation, which includes the Kazakh minister of transport.
According to the Foreign Office, the visit is seen as an important step ahead of the Kazakh President’s planned trip to Pakistan in November. It will help finalize preparations for the high-level engagement.
During his stay, the Kazakh Deputy PM will meet Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar for one-on-one talks. Delegation-level discussions will follow. Nurtleu is also expected to call on Pakistan’s President and Prime Minister.
On the sidelines of the visit, joint working group meetings on agriculture and information technology will be held. These sessions aim to identify new areas of cooperation between the two countries.
The Foreign Office stated that discussions will cover trade, investment, agriculture, education, cultural exchanges, tourism, and regional connectivity. Collaboration at multilateral forums will also be reviewed.
A spokesperson noted that the Kazakh Deputy PM’s visit would strengthen Pakistan-Kazakhstan relations. It is expected to deepen cooperation in multiple sectors and open new opportunities for both sides.
The visit reflects the growing importance of Central Asia in Pakistan’s foreign policy. With the Kazakh President scheduled to arrive later this year, officials believe that stronger bilateral ties will benefit both nations.
