Following Jannat Mirza recent podcast where she made revealing comments about her breakup with Umar Butt, attention has shifted to Umar for his response.
Umar addressed the situation indirectly in an Instagram post, saying, “My parents raised me with respect, so I refrain from speaking poorly of others,” implying his disapproval of Jannat’s remarks without explicitly naming her.

He further stated, “I’m not seeking low-level publicity. May Allah grant you happiness, Ameen.”
During her recent appearance on Ahmad Ali Butt’s podcast, Jannat Mirza spoke candidly about her breakup with Umar Butt. She revealed that she was caught off guard by the separation but felt relieved it occurred before marriage, as dealing with it post-marriage would have been more distressing.
Jannat expressed, “I wasn’t prepared for the breakup; who would be? However, I wasn’t scared and found happiness afterwards.”
She clarified that the decision to end the relationship wasn’t made on a whim; it was a result of two years of discussions. “What could have happened later happened earlier. Ending a Nikah or marriage is more painful, so it’s better it concluded before that stage. We had conversations about it before deciding to part ways. I couldn’t continue in that relationship, but I have strong support from my family, including my parents and sisters,” she said.
