ANF Seizes Drugs Worth Over Rs200 Million in Nationwide Raids

Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) carried out a series of operations across the country, seizing narcotics worth over Rs200 million and arresting three suspects, including a woman. The five raids led to the recovery of a total of 287.74kg of drugs, reflecting the ANF’s commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks.

In Hazarganji, Quetta, 231kg of morphine was found abandoned in an uninhabited area. Other notable operations included the seizure of 35kg of opium, 12kg of crystal meth, and 6kg of heroin near Goth Lakha, Lasbela. Near Islamabad’s Saiyam 1 Motorway, 3kg of crystal meth was discovered hidden in a vehicle’s compartments. Further arrests were made at Iqbal Shaheed Toll Plaza in Attock, where suspects were caught with 740 grams of crystal meth.

Pakistani-Origin Briton Arrested at Peshawar Airport with 10kg of Drugs

At Peshawar Airport, ANF arrested a Pakistani-origin British national after discovering 10.6kg of hashish hidden in his trolley bag. The drugs were carefully concealed in boxes, and the suspect was en route from Peshawar to London via Doha. Investigations are being conducted under the CNS (Control of Narcotic Substances) Act, with ANF noting that smugglers often employ sophisticated methods to traffic drugs using air routes.

In related operations, ANF intercepted a French national at Islamabad International Airport attempting to smuggle 1.58kg of hashish, disguised in chocolate packaging. The suspect had entered Pakistan on a visit visa and was traveling to Sri Lanka via Muscat.

Crystal Meth and Cocaine Smuggling Foiled in Recent Airport Raids

Pakistan’s ANF and Airport Security Force (ASF) also thwarted several attempts to smuggle drugs through airports. ASF personnel at Islamabad International Airport arrested a suspect trying to smuggle 1.3kg of crystal meth hidden in a vest. The suspect, Muhammad Jan, was preparing to board a Doha-bound flight when the drugs were discovered.

In November, ANF arrested a Brazilian woman at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport for attempting to smuggle 1.396kg of cocaine concealed in her undergarments. The woman was caught after appearing suspicious during passenger clearance.

These recent operations demonstrate Pakistan’s continued crackdown on international drug trafficking networks.
