ASF Thwarts Smuggling Attempt at Islamabad Airport

A drug smuggling attempt was successfully foiled by the Airports Security Force (ASF) at Islamabad International Airport, preventing a significant quantity of narcotics from leaving the country. The operation took place during routine baggage screening for a flight bound for Bahrain.

The suspect, identified as Shoaib Ali, was caught carrying 888 grams of crystal meth, which had been cleverly hidden inside a trolley bag. The seized drugs are estimated to be worth over Rs12.5 million in the illegal market.

ASF personnel acted swiftly upon discovering the concealed narcotics and immediately stopped the smuggling attempt. Their vigilance ensured the contraband did not make it past airport security.

The accused and the recovered drugs were later handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further investigation and legal proceedings. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to keeping international transit points secure from such criminal activities.
